Downingtown Area School District is located in beautiful and historic Chester County in southeastern Pennsylvania. The district's 82 square miles includes the Borough of Downingtown, and the townships of East Brandywine, East Caln, Upper Uwchlan, Uwchlan, Wallace, West Bradford and West Pikeland. Downingtown Area School District is comprised of nine elementary schools (K-5), two middle schools (6-8), and two high schools (9-12).
There are currently 11,752 enrolled students in our 14 schools. As of October 2007, there were more than 26,000 households, with an estimated 66,000 residents residing in the district.
The district is within easy driving distance of the metropolitan areas of Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, DC. Several major highways, (Pennsylvania Turnpike and the Rt. 30/202 corridor) can be accessed within minutes from any of our 8 municipalities.
